Cognac Club’s recommended winter cocktails’

THE HENNESSY WINTER’S SPIRIT

INGREDIENTS

40 ml Hennessy
40 ml hot water
5ml of sugar cane syrup
2 lemon supremes (wedges without the peel, pith and skin)
1 thin slice of ginger
1 orange twist

In a glass, add Hennessy, sugar, lemon and ginger. Stir. Top with hot water and garnish with an orange twist.

THE HENNESSY HONEY

INGREDIENTS

40 ml of Hennessy
5 ml of acacia honey
40 ml hot water
1 slice of lemon

In a glass, add Hennessy, honey and hot water. Stir to dissolve the honey. Garnish with a lemon slice

BLACKCURRANT VELVET

INGREDIENTS

40 ml of Martell VS
10ml blackcurrant or blackberry liqueur
25ml lemon juice
25ml egg white
10ml gomme
25ml red wine

Add Martell VS, blackcurrant/blackberry liqueur, lemon juice, egg white and gomme into a shaker and dry shake for 15-20 seconds then fill shaker with cubed ice and shake vigorously for another 10-15 seconds. Strain ingredient into coupette and garnish with red wine.

THE MR G A DE V

INGREDIENTS

40 ml of Martell VS
20 ml of freshly brewed filer coffee
20 ml sugar syrup
Chocolate garnish (at least 70% cocoa)

Shake the Martell VS, coffee and sugar syrup with ice and strain into a chilled martini glass. Sprinkle liberally with very finely grated chocolate.

MIDNIGHT IN PARIS

INGREDIENTS

25 ml of Courvoisier VSOP
ginger ale
half an orange slice

Fill in a high ball glass with ice. Pour the cognac, top-up with ginger ale then stir gently. Garnish with half an orange slice.

BAPTISTE

INGREDIENTS

50 ml Remy Martin VSOP
20 ml Lemon juice
20 ml Maple Syrup
Orange bitters
French cider

Pour Remy Martin VSOP, lemon juice, maple syrup and a bash of orange bitters over cubed ice. Top with French cider and garnish with a twist of orange zest.
